PEACE

Peace! What a world of deep meaning
It brings to our hearts to-day,
The terms of which the old Kaiser
Shall not have one word to say.
But let us first thank Jehovah,
For helping our brave men
Of United States and Allies
To bring the war to an end.
Then let us pray for the statesmen,
Whose task is not very light,
That they may be led in dividing
To make terms lasting and right
That soon the art of war may cease,
Each heart fill’d with “the God of peace.”
