FOR THE NEW YEAR 1926
All these years the Lord has led us,
Sometimes through a lonely path
Yet He ever is beside us,
Will be with us to the last.
Blessed Lord, how much we need Thee
In these days of toil and care,
It will help us bear our burdens
If we breathe a little prayer.
He can hear the smallest whispers,
He doth know the heart’s desire;
Satisfy our deepest longings,
And our hungry souls inspire.
He can fill the empty vessel,
Fill it right up to the brim;
Help us fill the pots with water,
Leave the miracle to Him.
He is still the same sweet Jesus,
He can heal the broken heart,
Like a mother speaking kindly,
Whispering we will never part.
Saviour, draw us closer to Thee,
Fill our hearts with hope and cheer;
Do I hear the joy bells ringing!
Bringing in the sweet New Year!
