Mr Malcolm McMaster held gospel meetings in a hall at the back of his house where he invited various speakers for the entertainment and spiritual guidance of the people of Cullybackey and the surrounding area.  He was a very gifted poet as can be seen from some of his poems listed here and for many years wrote among others a poem for the new year, many of which were printed in the Ballymena Weekly Telegraph.
