WINTER
Now the sleety winds do blow
Bringing snow.
As it comes without a sound
To the ground.
Soon we’ll see it cover over
Every field where singing larks did hove
Above the clover.
See the hedges black and bare
In the air,
As they quiver to and fro
Through the snow,
As it comes so softly down
To the bare and naked frosty ground,
Falling all around.
