JOHNSTON, SAM THE SNOW

THE SNOW

As the mist covered the mountain row,

Softly and silently came the snow.

The hedges thick were covered white

When the gloomy stars came out at night.

The roads seemed dreary, footmarked and long,

And the birds thought that something was wrong,

As the old plantation looked so bare.

Along the lanes marked the tiny hare.
