Cardonaghy Townland

Cardonaghy, Car or Carn Donnchadha, meaning Donogh’s round hill or carn is situated close to the S.W. end of the village of Cullybackey and extends south for one mile.  It is in the Barony of Lower Toome and contains 301 acres 2 roods 17 perches.  It contained Mount Davies, the residence of Alexander McManus Esq around which there was a considerable plantation. Mount Davies/Davys later became the home of the Rowan family.
