A THOUGHT FOR THE TIMES

A THOUGHT FOR THE TIMES

Days of darkness, skies so cold
Call to mind the days of old,
When our world in sorrowing night
Longed for glorious hope and light
Then was born that morn long past,
Bringing gladness that will last.

Now again our times anew
Bid us look for skies of blue,
That in spite of troubled days,
We should raise our songs of praise
For the victory over might,
And for home and friends and right.
Trusting still that liberty
May our portion always be,
And that war with man shall cease,
AS we serve the Prince of Peace.
For Thy Love’s sake , Lord, restrain,
May Thy Spirit in us reign;
Then Thy Truth shall set us free,
Till we all become like Thee.
